EXIF Viewer & Remover
See a photo's hidden details and location, then download a copy without them. Nothing is uploaded.
Choose a photo
JPG, PNG or WebP. The photo is read in your browser and never uploaded.
How to use the exif viewer & remover
Photos carry hidden information: the camera or phone that took them, when they were taken, the settings used and often the exact place, as GPS coordinates. Choose a photo to see what it contains, then download a copy with that information removed. The picture itself isn't re-compressed, so the clean copy looks exactly the same. Everything happens in your browser.
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP photo.
- Read the details: camera, date taken, settings and, if present, the location with a map link.
- Press Remove metadata to strip EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and text data.
- Download the clean copy and share that instead of the original.
Tips for better results
- Turn off location tagging in your phone's camera settings if you don't want new photos to record where they were taken.
- Keep the original if you want the date and place for your own records; share only the clean copy.

Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data?
Information a camera or phone saves inside a photo: the device make and model, date and time, exposure settings and, if location is turned on, GPS coordinates. Editing apps can add more, such as XMP or IPTC data with author and copyright details.
Does removing metadata reduce quality?
No. The tool removes only the metadata sections of the file and copies the image data unchanged, so there's no re-compression and the format stays the same.
Will my photo turn sideways?
No. If the original had a rotation setting, the clean JPG keeps just that one setting so the photo still displays the right way up. Nothing else is kept.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is read and cleaned in your browser and never sent to our servers.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP. JPG photos from phones and cameras usually carry the most metadata.
Why does my photo show no location?
The camera didn't save one (location was off), or an app already removed it. Many social networks strip location when you upload, but files sent as documents or by email often keep it.
