How to use the image upscaler
Make a small photo bigger without it turning into blocks. Choose 2x or 4x, or pick a target size such as 3000×3000 pixels or 4K, compare the result with a before/after slider, and download it. The upscaler uses high-quality Lanczos resampling, which keeps edges smooth when an image is enlarged.
- Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP image (up to 10 MB) into the box, or tap to choose one.
- Pick 2x or 4x, or choose a target size such as 3000×3000, Full HD or 4K.
- Check the output resolution shown under the preview, then press Upscale.
- Drag the before/after slider to compare, then press Download.
Tips for better results
- Start from the largest, sharpest original you have. Upscaling adds pixels, not detail, so a blurry source stays soft.
- For print, aim for about 300 pixels per inch: an A4 page needs roughly 2480×3508 pixels.
- Upscale first, then crop or resize to the exact size you need, so you only enlarge once.
When to use it
Print
Enlarge a phone photo so it prints sharply on A4 or a poster.
Online shops
Meet marketplace minimums such as 1000×1000 or 2000×2000 product photos.
Wallpapers
Bring an image up to Full HD or 4K for a desktop or TV background.
Old photos
Give small scanned or downloaded pictures more pixels to work with.
Slides and thumbnails
Avoid blurry images when a small logo or picture fills a big slide.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I enlarge an image?
Up to 4 times its original width and height in one step. If a target size needs more than 4x, the tool upscales as far as it can and shows the final size before you start.
Will upscaling add real detail?
No tool can recover detail that was never captured. Upscaling adds pixels using smooth Lanczos interpolation, so edges stay clean instead of looking blocky. It works best on images that are already sharp.
What does a target size like 3000×3000 do?
The image is enlarged until it fits inside that box. The proportions are kept, so a wide photo becomes 3000 pixels wide and less than 3000 tall.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 10 MB. The result keeps the original format.
Why is the upscaled file so much bigger?
A 4x upscale has 16 times as many pixels, so the file grows too. Use the Compress Image tool afterwards if you need a smaller file.
Is it free?
