How to use the blur faces
Protect people's privacy before you post a photo. Draw a box over each face or detail you want to hide, choose how strong the blur should be, and download. Blurring happens in your browser.
- Drop your photo into the box, or tap to choose one.
- Draw a box over each face or area you want to hide.
- Choose the blur strength, from subtle to strong.
- Apply the blur, check the preview and download.
Tips for better results
- Make each box a little larger than the face, including hair and ears. Partly visible features can still make a person recognisable.
- Use the strong setting for anything sensitive, such as children, documents or ID cards. Subtle blur suits background people in a casual photo.
- Remember reflections and screens: faces in mirrors, windows and phone screens are easy to miss.
- Check the whole photo for other personal details before posting: house numbers, school badges, name tags and vehicle number plates.
- Keep the original private. Share only the blurred copy, because the original still contains everything you hid.

Frequently asked questions
Does the tool find faces automatically?
You choose the areas yourself by drawing over them, which also works for number plates, text and screens.
Can the blur be undone by someone else?
Use the strong setting for real privacy. Weak blur can sometimes still let people recognise a face. For documents, a strong blur is safest.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The blur is applied in your browser and the file stays on your device.
Can I blur several areas in one image?
Yes. Draw as many boxes as you need before applying the blur.
Which formats are supported?
Common formats such as JPG, PNG and WebP.
Can I blur number plates and text too?
Yes. Draw a box over any area, such as a number plate, an address, a screen or a document, and it is blurred the same way as a face.
Does the downloaded image keep the original quality?
Only the areas you selected change. The rest of the photo keeps its original pixels.
